Updated Hockey World Championship 2026 Final Bracket, Finland vs. Switzerland Schedule After Semis

Switzerland and Finland were each victorious in the IIHF Hockey World Championship bracket on Saturday.

Switzerland, the host country, defeated Norway 6-0. Finland took down Canada, 4-2.

The winners will play Sunday at 2:20 p.m. ET for the championship. Canada and Norway will fight for third place earlier Sunday.

Sunday Schedule

Bronze Medal Game (9:30 a.m. ET): Canada vs. Norway

Gold Medal Game (2:20 p.m. ET): Switzerland vs. Finland

Switzerland 6, Norway 0

Switzerland enjoyed a thoroughly dominant 6-0 win that featured the team outscoring Norway 4-0 through two and out-shooting them 25-13 during that same span.

The following players scored goals for Switzerland: Christoph Bertschy (lone first period goal), Denis Malgin, Ken Jager, Damien Riat, Nico Hischier and Theo Rochette.

Leonardo Genoni earned the 20-save shutout. Riat added an assist for a two-point day. Sven Andrighetto had two assists.

Finland 4, Canada 2

Finland scored three goals within a 12:01 second period span to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead en route to its semifinal victory.

Aleksander Barkov, Konsta Helenius and Aatu Raty scored for Finland in the second.

Patrik Puistola got the scoring going in the first for Finland at 3:30.

Canada fired back with two goals from Robert Thomas (8:17) and Dylan Holloway (14:26).

Canada out-shot Finland 14-2 in the third (29-21 for the game) but could only muster those two first period goals.

Barkov and Helenius each had a goal and an assist. Mikael Granlund added two assists, and goalie Justus Annunen saved 27 shots in net.
