Phillies' Bryce Harper Rips 'Losers' After Criticism over Viral Toothpaste TikTok Video
Bryce Harper's unique way of brushing his teeth—he sucks the toothpaste right out of the tube and then begins the process of brushing—went very, very viral after he exposed his method in a recent TikTok video.
The Philadelphia Phillies superstar is just happy for the views.
"I mean, it's gone viral, so I'm happy about that," he told reporters Wednesday. "It always helps with my videos when it goes viral, so if that's what makes it go viral, then I'll take it."
While most of the response was a mix of bewilderment and banter, some folks took the hate too far.
"I mean, people are losers, and you know they're gonna be losers," Harper said. "If that's what they want to do, then that's what they're gonna do."
Even the San Diego Padres had fun at Harper's expense during this week's series between the teams:
Harper and the Phillies had the last laugh, however, sweeping the series. The star first baseman went 1-for-9 against the Padres with a homer, an RBI, two runs and three walks.
The Phillies are now 29-27 after a brutal 8-18 start to the 2026 season, which included a 10-game losing streak in April. While an NL East title may already be out of the question—the Phils trail the Atlanta Braves by eight games—the team is very much back in the Wild Card mix.
And no, Harper hasn't suddenly changed his brushing routine in an effort to get the Phillies back on track. This isn't a sudden superstition or the hygienic version of a rally cap—this is just how the man brushes his teeth.
"It kind of happens when you post a little bit, right?" Harper said of the response to his video. "But yeah, I've done it forever."
