Younghoe Koo, Jets Reportedly Agree to Contract in NFL Free Agency After Giants, Falcons Stints
After spending the 2025 campaign with the Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants, Younghoe Koo has found a new team.
Per SNY's Connor Hughes, the veteran kicker is signing with the New York Jets for the 2026 campaign.
Koo started his career with the Los Angeles Chargers before a stint in the AAF. He returned to the NFL in 2019, first as a member of the New England Patriots' practice squad before signing with Atlanta.
He found success with the Falcons, earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2020 after he had a 94.9 percent field goal rate and led the NFL in scoring with 144 points. He remained Atlanta's full-time kicker until the 2025 season.
Koo lost his starting job with the Falcons last year after he missed what would have been a game-tying field goal in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was benched the following week and waived the week after that as Atlanta turned to Parker Romo.
Koo then signed with the Giants following his seven-year run with the Falcons, but his struggles followed him to New York. He appeared in five games for the Giants, making four of his six field goal attempts and 11 of his 12 extra point attempts.
New York waived Koo in December after he missed a pair of field goals against the Washington Commanders.
Koo was once considered one of the best kickers in the league, but he's struggled over the last two seasons. The 31-year-old will look to make the most of his new opportunity to avoid being waived again.
