Watch Mets' Jorge Polanco Mistakenly Try to Challenge Strike in Video From Rehab Assignment
New York Mets infielder Jorge Polanco is currently playing in Double-A as he rehabs from Achilles bursitis and a wrist issue.
He forgot, temporarily, that he was not at the MLB level, attempting to challenge a strike call at the plate. The only issue is that the Double-A level doesn't have its own ABS system for doing so:

The 32-year-old has only played 14 games for the Mets since signing a two-year, $40 million deal with the team in December, hitting .179 with a homer, two RBI, three runs and a woeful .532 OPS.
It's been a rough start to his tenure, especially considering he was one of the players brought aboard to replace Pete Alonso's production. But the Mets are still hopeful he provides the sort of pop he displayed with the Seattle Mariners last season, when he hit 26 homers and had a .821 OPS.
Upon his return, he's expected to operate primarily as the designated hitter.
"The way we see it is gonna be a lot of DH, to be honest with you," manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Wednesday. "Hopefully we can get him a game or two at first base, but try to keep him off his feet as much as possible. He'll play some first base once he starts going through his rehab assignment, but probably looking more like DH and try to keep his bat in the lineup as much as possible."
The Mets have been going through it in general this season, starting 22-33. They already find themselves 15 games back of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East and eight games back of the final Wild Card spot.
Making the postseason is probably a pipe dream at this point, but getting players like Polanco back in the fold should at least slightly improve their very long odds.
