New Giants Rumors on Malik Nabers' Injury Return Timeline and Impact on Odell Beckham Jr. Contract
The New York Giants are still considering reuniting with Odell Beckham Jr. amid Malik Nabers' ongoing recovery from his right knee injury, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Saturday on SportsCenter.
"I'm told he's been a fixture in the building. He's trying to rehab that [knee]," Fowler reported Saturday about Nabers. "The Giants don't quite know yet whether he's going to be ready for training camp. The hope is still Week 1, but that is not a guarantee."
Fowler added: "They like where he's trending; it's just one of those situations where they don't know exactly when he's going to get on the field. That's why they could maybe add a receiver at some point; Odell Beckham is still out there. They talked to him."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Giants head coach John Harbaugh said Thursday the knee injury has not been "simple" for Nabers, who suffered a season-ending torn right ACL in September.
Nabers then underwent a "cleanup" procedure to remove scar tissue earlier this offseason, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
"He's fighting through it. He's here every day, working hard at it. Just impossible to predict," Harbaugh said Thursday about Nabers' return. "Goal is to start the season. Get out there some time in training camp, that'd be the goal."
Beckham began his NFL career with the Giants, with whom he earned three Pro Bowl nods from 2014 to 2017. He hasn't played since the Miami Dolphins waived him in December 2024.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported last August that Beckham planned to play in 2025 and had received interest from multiple teams.
Beckham didn't ultimately play last season, however, which included a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.
He first took a step toward a return with the Giants when he worked out with the team in April. Harbaugh said earlier this month the team might wait until training camp to decide whether to sign him.
At that point, the Giants would likely have a better idea as to whether Nabers will have a shot at playing in Week 1.
The Giants are also waiting until training camp for the return of Darius Slayton, who underwent surgery on a core muscle injury in April, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
The health status of Nabers and Slayton could influence the likelihood the Giants sign Beckham before training camp begins in July in West Virginia.
