Mike Trout Discusses If He'd Ask for Angels Trade If Team Continues to Struggle in New Video
Mike Trout declined to answer when asked if he would consider asking for a trade if the Los Angeles Angels can't turn their 2026 season around.
"I haven't even thought about that yet," Trout told Halo Territory. "I'm not even gonna talk about the trade stuff."

Inside Ohtani vs. Trout's Insane WBC At-Bat
After an 11-10 start to the season, the Angels have gone 6-23 since April 18 to tumble to the AL basement.
Trout has spent the entirety of his 16-year MLB career with the Angels, a span during which the club has made just one postseason appearance.
That was in the 2014 ALDS, which ended in a three-game sweep by the Kansas City Royals.
In response to being told some fans say they want to see Trout return to playing in October, Trout told Halo Territory: "Oh, sure. I've been hearing that the last 10, 12 years."
He reiterated, however, that he "hadn't even thought about" a potential trade.
The Angels most recently dropped a series to the visiting A's after a Tuesday blowout followed by an extra-innings defeat on Wednesday.
The series was marked by chants from fans in the stands for owner Arte Moreno to sell the team.
"I hear the chants, for sure," Trout said. "It is what it is."
Trout is playing in the eighth season of the 12-year, $426 million contract he signed with the Angels ahead of the 2019 campaign. He holds a full no-trade clause on the deal.
While slashing .231/.398/.480 through 49 games, Trout leads his club with 35 runs, 12 home runs and 45 runs during that 17-33 start to the season.
That run has featured Trout's best walk rate since 2018, his highest OPS since 2022 and his best hard-hit rate since his last All-Star season in 2023, per Baseball Savant.
That strong start to Trout's age-34 campaign hasn't been enough to keep his club competitive. It has been enough, however, to get pundits wondering about what the Angels could get for trading him should they find a club interested in taking on his $37 million in average annual salary.
Should the Angels continue to struggle as Trout keeps putting up strong numbers at the plate, this might not be the last time the star gets asked about a potential trade before the Aug. 3 deadline.
