Aaron Rodgers Contract Incentives Revealed in New Steelers Rumors
Aaron Rodgers reportedly has several contract incentives in the one-year deal that he signed to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency on Monday.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Rodgers will receive payments of $625,000 for winning in the Wild Card round, divisional round, AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl as long as he plays 75 percent of Pittsburgh's regular-season snaps.
Of note, Pittsburgh has not won a playoff game since the 2016-17 NFL season.
The 42-year-old confirmed that he plans to retire at the end of the 2026 season on Wednesday.
Rodgers spent the 2025 season with the Steelers, starting 16 games.
He completed 65.7 percent of his throws for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns compared to seven interceptions. It's worth noting that Rodgers averaged just 6.7 yards per attempt, tied for the lowest mark in his career as a full-time starter.
Still, the four-time MVP proved to be a serviceable option under center for Pittsburgh and helped the team win the AFC North with a record of 10-7.
The Steelers ultimately experienced a swift playoff exit, suffering a lopsided 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round. Rodgers struggled against an imposing Texans defense, finishing 17-of-33 for 146 yards and one interception.
He'll now be returning to a Pittsburgh squad that has underwent several changes this offseason, headlined by Mike McCarthy replacing Mike Tomlin as head coach.
The Steelers also added several new playmakers on offense, trading for wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. to pair with DK Metcalf and signing running back Rico Dowdle.
Pittsburgh also added Alabama receiver Germie Bernard with a second-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft, selecting him with the No. 47 overall choice.
With Rodgers back in the mix, the Steelers will look to break their playoff win drought next season.
