Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong Apologizes for Exchange With Fan During White Sox Game
Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong made headlines Sunday when he engaged in a back-and-forth with a Chicago White Sox fan during his team's 9-8 loss, but he apologized for his actions Monday.
"I regret the word choice," Crow-Armstrong said, per ESPN's Jesse Rogers.
He also said, "I'm just bummed out about the word choice and that a bunch of little kids will find their way to social media and see that as well. … Again, poor word choice."

The incident occurred right after Crow-Armstrong just missed coming down with what would have been a spectacular catch at the wall in the outfield. A White Sox fan yelled at him through the fence, and he yelled back.
Tensions were surely high during the weekend rivalry series, and the White Sox managed to win two of three against the first-place Cubs.
Sunday's game was the most dramatic of the three with the South Siders prevailing in extra innings. Tristan Peters launched a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to put the White Sox ahead by three runs only for Michael Conforto to force extras with his own three-run homer in the ninth.
Yet the White Sox ultimately prevailed on a walk-off long ball from Edgar Quero in that extra frame.
Crow-Armstrong went 0-for-3 on Sunday but did steal a base and make multiple impressive plays in the field.
The two teams will play their next three-game series at Wrigley Field from Aug. 17-19.
