New MLB Draft 2026 Big Board Top 150 Rankings Drops by ESPN's Kiley McDaniel Before NCAA Tournament
With college baseball's conference tournaments about to start and the MLB draft now less than two months away, ESPN's Kiley McDaniel listed out his top 150 players ahead of July's event.
Unsurprisingly, UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky tops the list, much as he does over at MLB.com. Both McDaniel and MLB.com agree on the top four prospects in this class, with high-school shortstop Grady Emerson coming in at No. 2, Georgia Tech catcher Vahn Lackey at No. 3 and UC Santa Barbara pitcher Jackson Flora at No. 4.
McDaniels' No. 5 prospect, high-school outfielder Eric Booth Jr., is No. 6 on MLB's list, while his No. 10 prospect (Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron) comes in at No. 5 on MLB.com's rankings.

As for Cholowsky, MLB.com wrote in its scouting report that he's "considered by some to be the best all-around college shortstop prospect since Troy Tulowitzki and has done nothing to diminish that take with a solid junior season," adding that he "has the chance to have four plus tools when all is said and done."
Keith Law of The Athletic also has Cholowsky at No. 1 overall, though he has Lackey at No. 2, Flora at No. 3, Kentucky shortstop Tyler Bell at No. 4 and Emerson at No. 5. Bell ranks 29th for McDaniel and 23 for MLB.com.
