How Aaron Rodgers' New Steelers Contract Reportedly Compares to Tom Brady, Drew Brees' Final Deals
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly is following the lead of fellow future Pro Football Hall of Famers as he nears the end of his legendary NFL career.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated provided a contract breakdown for the one-year deal that Rodgers signed with the Steelers for the 2026 season and revealed an interesting tidbit about how it compares to the other great signal-callers of his generation.
"He made $13.65 million in base pay last year, which was a major discount, and got that number just past $15 million after hitting a few incentives," Breer explained. "This time around, he'll get a nice bump, including a $22 million fully guaranteed base salary, per sources, and another $3 million in roster bonuses and incentives that can get him to $25 million, the number that Tom Brady and Drew Brees were getting at the very end of their careers."
Like Rodgers, Brees and Brady played into their 40s as they rewrote the history books. Brees is set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026, and Brady will be eligible for induction in 2028.
At 42 years old, Rodgers is hoping to make one last run at another Super Bowl title before he hangs up his cleats for good. He led the Steelers to an AFC North title last year, but the team didn't advance past the AFC Wild Card Round.
Rodgers will try to live up to his payday with Pittsburgh when the team opens the 2026 campaign later this year.
