Deion Sanders Says Andrew Berry 'Wants to Win at All Costs,' Praises Browns Front Office, Ownership
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is a fan of Cleveland Browns executive vice president of football operations and general manager Andrew Berry, the man who drafted his son Shedeur.
"You've got a GM that I adore," Sanders told Garrett Bush (15:35 mark). "Like I really do. I think he gets it bad because he's a brother, for one. But secondly, because they had won but you gotta understand most of the time the GMs and head coaches are married together. But Mr. Berry, he's done a phenomenal job with acquiring talent. Phenomenal, to me. ... I love the ownership. They do care, they want to win. They really want to win. I know that for a fact. And I know the heart of Mr. Berry. He wants to win at all costs."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Since Berry was appointed to his current role in 2020, the Browns have had two winning seasons, two playoff berths and one playoff win. But the team has gone just 8-26 in the past two seasons, largely still recovering from the ridiculous decision to trade three first-rounders (2022-24), a 2023 third-round pick and a 2024 fourth-rounder for quarterback Deshaun Watson before signing him to a five-year, $230 million fully-guaranteed contract.
Watson has been a disaster, the Browns have suffered from his huge cap hit and the draft picks surrendered to acquire him, and the team has yet to identify an adequate replacement (Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders were attempts to rectify the situation in 2025, but both underwhelmed).
Berry has made plenty of other moves in his tenure, but the Watson one is currently the defining transaction. The elder Sanders still believes in him, but it's fair to question how many more losing seasons the Browns can endure before the Haslams run out of patience.
