Multiple Philadelphia Flyers players were battling serious injuries during their second-round sweep by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Flyers general manager Daniel Briere confirmed Thursday that ten players were dealing with injuries during the playoffs.

The list included Owen Tippett, who recently shared that he missed the second round due to "an internal bleeding issue." The Flyers also listed him as having a core muscle injury.

Other players stayed in the lineup despite severe injuries, including Travis Konecny (fractured rib and nasal fracture), Christian Dvorak (fractured rib and separated shoulder) and Trevor Zegras (elbow ligament sprain).

Cam York (fractured rib), Garnet Hathaway (fractured fibula) and Alex Bump (MCL sprain) also lined up for Game 4 as the Canes completed their sweep of the Flyers in overtime on May 9 in Philadelphia.

Noah Cates, who was scratched for the last two games of the series, suffered a fractured foot. Briere specified that he will not need surgery, unlike Andrae, who will require surgery on a fractured wrist after sitting out Game 4.

All players on the injury list are under contract with the Flyers next season except for Andrae, Zegras and Nikita Grebenkin, who are all pending restricted free agents, per PuckPedia.

Of these players, Briere told reporters the only one that could potentially miss time at the start of the 2026-27 season due to their injury was Grebenkin.

Grebenkin, who has not played since March 21 and missed the entirety of the postseason, popped up on the season-ending list with a nonspecific upper-body injury.

Briere said Thursday the Flyers initially thought Grebenkin's injury was "going to be something short."

"It just never got better. Now we're looking at different options for him," Briere said.

Briere will largely be able to run things back next season with the young core that earned the franchise its first playoff berth since 2020 before eliminating the Pittsburgh Penguins from the first round in six games.

The Flyers twice pushed the Canes to overtime, but were overall outplayed and held to just five total games in the second round before the team's elimination in Game 4.

Briere will hope a healthier version of this group, powered by another year of development from rookies like Bump and Porter Martone, will be able to put together an even deeper playoff run next spring.
