The Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild might eventually play a boring game during their Western Conference Semifinal matchup, but it wasn't going to happen during Monday's Game 4.

The Avs took a commanding 3-1 series lead with a 5-2 win, with goals from Nazem Kadri, Ross Colton, Parker Kelly and Nathan MacKinnon. Four of those goals for the Colorado—and one for the Wild—came in the third period alone.

Thus far, the teams have combined for 35 goals through four games, a frenetic pace. Colorado has now posted an absurd 19 goals in its three wins.

It was actually Minnesota that opened the scoring, with Danila Yurov finding the back of the net during a first period power play.

But Kadri tied things up with a power play goal of his own in the second period.

The period also included Colorado star MacKinnon taking a puck to the face, though he later returned.

That set the stage for a very fun third period and ultimately a pair of empty-netters for the Avs:

The series resumes on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET (TNT, truTV). You don't want to miss it.
