Harper is the third Phillies player to be sidelined by a migraine this season, joining right-hander Andrew Painter and outfielder Justin Crawford.
Crawford was scratched from the lineup ahead of a May 2 game at the Miami Marlins.
He has a history of migraines, including ocular migraines involving vision loss, per OnPattison's Tim Kelly. Kelly reported that had been Crawford's first migraine in over a year.
Painter was then scratched from a scheduled start on April 12. He reported throwing up that morning, but improved later in the day and ultimately took the mound to throw five innings in relief.
The pitcher has dealt with migraines since childhood, per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.
Like Crawford and Painter, Harper has a history of migraines. He most recently missed time due to the issue when he was scratched with a migraine ahead of a matchup against the New York Mets in May 2024.
Harper had started all 39 games to start the season for the Phillies, rebounding after a slow start to slash .282/.380/.549 with nine home runs and 23 RBI.
The Phillies are still looking to recover from an overall sluggish beginning to the campaign that has left the club sitting fourth in the NL East with a 17-22 record.
Philadelphia had started to turn things around with four straight wins before dropping their last two decisions. The Phillies will now be tasked with getting back into the win column Saturday without their RBI leader.
