Martin was drafted in the second round of the 2024 WNBA draft by the Las Vegas Aces. After spending her rookie year with the Aces, she was drafted by the Valkyries in the 2024 WNBA expansion draft ahead of Golden State's inaugural season.
Martin played 16.4 minutes per game off the bench for the Valkyries, putting up 6.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
Martin recently suffered a Grade II quad strain, though she told reporters earlier this week that she was "taking it day by day" and was "progressing really well." She'll look to continue rehabbing that injury while searching for a spot on another roster.
The Valkyries are coming off an impressive first season in which they finished 23-21 and became the first WNBA expansion team to make the playoffs in their inaugural season.
That feat is even more impressive considering the team's leading scorer and leading rebounder, Kayla Thornton, suffered a season-ending torn meniscus in July.
Golden State didn't make any major moves this offseason, though it was able to retain veteran guard Tiffany Hayes in free agency.
The Valkyries will look to the duo of Hayes and Thornton to lead the way as they try to put together an even better second WNBA season.
