New Cowboys Rumors Reveal Interest In Former Eagles CB After 2026 NFL Draft

Scott PolacekMay 5, 2026

The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly interested in bringing in a veteran cornerback.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Tuesday that Dallas is hosting Adoree' Jackson for a free-agent visit. There is a connection in place, as Jackson was with the Philadelphia Eagles last season when new Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker was the defensive backs coach.

Jackson entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2017 with plenty of hype. He was an All-American and the 2016 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year at USC during his final college season.

Yet he has never completely lived up to that hype during a career that counts stops on the Titans, New York Giants and Eagles.

He doesn't have a single Pro Bowl selection and has just five interceptions in nine years, two of which came during his second season.

Jackson appeared in 14 games for the Eagles last season with 10 starts and tallied 55 tackles, one interception and 11 passes defended. It was his highest passes defended total since his rookie season in Tennessee, but there were still issues in coverage.

Pro Football Focus gave him an overall player grade of 54.6, which was 89th of 114 cornerbacks in the league.

Those aren't the most inspiring numbers, but the Cowboys do need to make strides on the defensive side after finishing last in the league in points allowed during the 2025 campaign. Jackson at least offers experience and is someone who has worked with the team's new defensive coordinator in the past.

It should be noted Dallas focused on the defensive side of the ball during the 2026 NFL draft.

It picked five defensive players in the first four rounds, including Ohio State safety Caleb Downs at No. 11 and UCF pass-rusher Malachi Lawrence at No. 23. The Cowboys earned an "A++" grade for the Downs pick from B/R's NFL Scouting Department, which called him "easily the best player in this year's class regardless of position."

If Jackson does end up signing with the Cowboys, perhaps he can provide veteran leadership in the secondary for Downs and a unit looking to make strides in 2026.
