Anthony Richardson Reportedly Attends Colts Voluntary OTAs Amid NFL Trade Rumors
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. requested a trade in February, but he showed a sign of good faith while awaiting his fate.
ESPN's Stephen Holder confirmed that Richardson reported to voluntary OTAs on Monday. Holder added that the team is "no closer" to trading him and that there is "no indication" that he'll be released.

The No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, Richardson was once expected to be the Colts' next franchise quarterback. He eventually lost his spot to veteran signal-caller Daniel Jones, who re-signed with Indianapolis on a two-year, $88 million deal this offseason.
While the Colts have been unable to find a trade for Richardson, his time with the franchise will seemingly come to an end soon. Indianapolis opted not to pick up the 23-year-old's fifth-year option on his rookie contract for the 2027 season, making him an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2026 campaign.
Despite Richardson's trade request, Colts general manager Chris Ballard said in March that it's possible that he remains with the team for the upcoming season.
"There's definitely a scenario there," Ballard said at the time. "He's a good dude, and he's talented. I still want good for Anthony. I still think he's got a lot in him."
Richardson's best course could be to put his best foot forward as a backup quarterback for the Colts and play out the year before hitting the open market next offseason. He will have the chance to revive his career with a fresh start once his contract with Indianapolis comes to an end.
