Diego Pavia Will Have 'Clean Slate' with Ravens After UDFA Contract, HC Jesse Minter Says
Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter discussed the approach that the team is going to take with rookie quarterback Diego Pavia after bringing him in as an undrafted free agent.
"We'll certainly have some talks about maybe how to handle certain things a little bit better," Minter said during a Wednesday appearance on Good Morning Football (h/t NFL.com's Nick Shook). "But, again, any rookie undrafted free agent -- come in and work. Let what you do on the field and by your actions show who you really are. We'll let him come in with a little bit of a clean slate and just give him a platform, along with the rest of the guys coming in, give them a platform to see what they can do."

Following a 2025 season at Vanderbilt in which Pavia finished No. 2 in Heisman Trophy voting, he didn't hear his name called during the draft before signing with the Ravens.
There was reportedly concern within the league regarding his negative reaction to being the Heisman runner-up, while NFL Network's Tom Pelissero noted that teams would need to "think about the dynamics in a room where he's not walking in as QB1."
Lamar Jackson is the unquestioned starter in Baltimore, but Pavia could establish himself as the team's top backup option if he's able to excel in training camp.
After all, he threw for 3,539 yards and racked up 39 total touchdowns during his senior year at Vanderbilt.
