Angel Reese Says 'No Love Lost' With Sky After Trade to Dream Ahead of Chicago Return
Angel Reese reflected on her tenure with the Chicago Sky after the team traded her to the Atlanta Dream prior to the 2026 WNBA season.
"I think it was just best for me to move on, and I think it was helpful for both of us," Reese said Wednesday, per ESPN's Kareem Copeland. "I'm grateful for Chicago for putting me in a situation where I could come somewhere that I really wanted and people that really wanted me. So, I'm just grateful to turn the page. No love lost. And I'm just really grateful and happy to be here.

"I think it's a part of my journey. Just being able to have, (at) this point for me, and being able to grow from it. And I'm just really happy to have this opportunity where Atlanta really wanted me to come in and find ways to help them, and them to help me. I've been happy every day. I've shown all 32 teeth every single day."
Reese will play against her former squad during a preseason matchup between Atlanta and Chicago on Wednesday.
On April 6, the Sky traded Reese to the Dream in exchange for first-round draft picks in 2027 and 2028. Atlanta also received the right to swap second-round picks with Chicago in 2028.
Reese earned All-Star nods in each of her first two years as a member of the Sky, averaging 14.1 points and 12.9 rebounds to go along with 1.4 steals per game. She also shot 42.1 percent from the field.
Still, Reese's future with the team became murky after she told the Chicago Tribune's Julia Poe that she wasn't "settling for the same s--t we did this year" and wanted the front office to "get good players" in Sept. 2025.
Her comments reportedly made her Chicago teammates unhappy at the time.
There doesn't seem to be any animosity between Reese and the Sky as she enters her first year with the Dream, though.
Tip-off between Atlanta and Chicago on Wednesday is at 7 p.m. ET.
