Bo Nix Injury Update, Latest News on Broncos QB's Return Timeline After Clean-Up Procedure on Ankle
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix recently underwent a "successful and anticipated" clean-up procedure on his ankle, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Rapoport noted that Nix's procedure wasn't rare and he's still expected to be ready for the start of the 2026 season.
The 26-year-old previously underwent surgery on a fractured right ankle that he suffered in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton revealed that doctors found a "condition that was predisposed" in the signal-caller's ankle during the first procedure.
Nix eventually visited with his doctor for a scheduled re-check on his ankle, leading to the clean-up surgery taking place.
His initial injury was a tough blow to the Broncos, as it occurred near the end of their 33-30 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round.
Nix was replaced under center by Jarrett Stidham in the AFC Championship Game, with Denver ultimately suffering a 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots.
During the 2025 regular season, Nix completed 63.4 percent of his throws for 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions. He also rushed for 356 yards and five scores.
While the Broncos may take a cautious approach with Nix's activity for the remainder from the offseason, he still seems to be on track to start Week 1 in 2026.
