Updated Quinnen Williams, Sauce Gardner Trade Returns for Jets After Deals with Cowboys, Colts

Doric SamApr 26, 2026

The New York Jets finally made use of some of the draft compensation they received from last season's blockbuster trades.

The Jets acquired a total of three first-round picks and a second-round pick from trading star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys at the 2025 trade deadline. Following the completion of the 2026 NFL draft, the returns for those deals have been updated.

The Jets used the No. 16 pick acquired from the Colts to select tight end Kenyon Sadiq. The Cowboys' second-round pick was originally slotted at No. 44, but New York moved down to No. 50 to select cornerback D'Angelo Ponds and add the No. 128 selection in the fourth round. That pick was packaged with No. 140 to move up to No. 110 to select quarterback Cade Klubnik.

In total, the Jets' haul from trading Gardner and Williams now stands at Sadiq, Ponds, Klubnik and a pair of first-round picks in the 2027 NFL draft. As a rebuilding team, New York appears to be moving in the right direction.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. gave the Jets an A- grade for their 2026 draft class, as did B/R's Kristopher Knox. New York will certainly be hoping for a similar performance in 2027 as general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn continue to try to reshape the franchise.
