The Buffalo Sabres are back in the playoffs for the first time since the 2010-11 season, and the entire region is amped.

That includes the very famous quarterback from Buffalo's football team, Josh Allen:

The 2024 NFL MVP knows what a playoff run from the Sabres means to the community.

"I think it's a better place when the Sabres are playing well, and it being the first playoff game in 15 years and to go in there and win the way that they did," he told reporters. "That showed a lot of grit, showed a lot of heart. It's a team that, again, people I think kind of wrote off at the beginning part of the season. They've come together rather quickly and they're playing for each other and you can see that, you can feel that. I think the buzz in the city right now is electric. We talked about OneBuffalo for the longest time with the Pegulas and it's been fun to watch them progress. And now going into this playoffs rolling."

That long wait made for a bumping atmosphere in Game 1.

"Talk about electric," Allen said. "That was fun to watch the highlights."

Now he'll witness it for himself in Game 2.
