Kelsey Plum, Under Armour Part Ways Ahead of 2026 WNBA Season

Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum and Under Armour are ending their sponsorship deal.

"We appreciate the partnership we've had with Kelsey and everything she's contributed," the company said Tuesday in a statement. "As we sharpen our focus and build for what's next, we're moving in different directions. We wish her the best."

Plum first signed with Under Armour in 2022.

The four-time WNBA All-Star is the second notable name to move on from Under Armour within the past year. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, who was a UA athlete going back to 2013, became a sneaker free agent last November.

Fans noticed Plum was wearing Adidas shoes while competing in Unrivaled this winter. At the time, an Under Armour spokesperson said she was still with the brand.

That's clearly no longer the case.

Plum averaged 19.5 points and 5.7 assists with the Sparks in 2025. Having won two titles with the Las Vegas Aces, she headed for Southern California in order to become the top star on her own team.

That's going to be the plan once again after she signed a one-year, $999,999 deal with Los Angeles.

The Sparks also brought back three-time All-Star Dearica Hamby and reunited with 2016 MVP Nneka Ogwumike. Trading Rickea Jackson to the Chicago Sky for Ariel Atkins was another sign of their ambitions.

Anything short of a playoff appearance will be a disappointment for the organization.
