Floyd Mayweather Comments on Ronda Rousey ESPY Jab, UFC
Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey are unbeatable in their respective sports, but they have taken aim at each other in a war of words.
Mayweather dished out the latest blow Thursday on ESPN’s SportsCenter (h/t Marc Raimondi of MMAFighting.com) when he said, “I’ve yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me."
The dig was in response to Rousey’s comments at the ESPYS in July when she beat Mayweather for Fighter of the Year and said, in a testament to Mayweather’s history of domestic violence, “I wonder how Floyd feels being beaten by a woman for once," per Raimondi.
The UFC later weighed in, backing its fighter after Mayweather's comments:
Both fighters have never experienced a loss in their professional careers (Mayweather 48-0 in the boxing ring, and Rousey 12-0 in MMA), and it appears neither is going down without a fight in this verbal back-and-forth.
