Jorge Soler's MLB Suspension Reduced After Angels vs. Reynaldo Lopez, Braves Fight on Viral Video
Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Jorge Soler won't be sidelined for too long after his involvement in a brawl with the Atlanta Braves and starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez.
Per Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, Soler's suspension has been reduced from seven games to four games, and he will begin serving it in Wednesday night's matchup against the New York Yankees.
Soler and Lopez initially received equal seven-game suspensions for inciting a benches-clearing incident between the Angels and Braves during Atlanta's 7-2 win on April 7. Both players appealed their suspensions, and MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association quickly reached an agreement to have Lopez's suspension reduced to five games.

Soler had been on a tear at the plate while his suspension was under appeal. He hit a home run in his first game after the suspension was announced before launching a grand slam on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds, and he also homered in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Yankees.
Soler has hit .231 with five home runs and a team-high 18 RBI for the Angels, who are off to a 9-9 start to the 2026 season. Los Angeles will look to take the advantage in its four-game series against New York on Wednesday after tying it 1-1 with Tuesday's win.
Following his four-game suspension, Soler will be eligible to return to the Angels' lineup on Sunday in their series finale against the San Diego Padres. Los Angeles is hoping to end its 11-year playoff drought this season, so it will need all the help it can get from Soler and the rest of its stars throughout the year.
