Jets, Eagles, Steelers Land QBs in New 2026 NFL Mock Draft form Dane Brugler
Three teams whose quarterback situations have been at the center of the offseason discussion are projected to add help at the position during the 2026 NFL draft by The Athletic's Dane Brugler.
In his seven-round mock released on Wednesday, Brugler projected the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers to select quarterbacks outside of the first two rounds.

Steelers Round 1 QB Unlikely

Every QB Landing Spot in New Mock📍
The Steelers get LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, who might be the most compelling quarterback in this class because of the gap between his ceiling and floor, in the third round at pick No. 85.
The fourth round sees the Jets take a flier on Penn State's Drew Allar with the 103rd pick, followed by the Eagles getting Carson Beck at No. 137.
Nussmeier was regarded as a top-10 prospect entering the 2025 season. He struggled throughout the year due to injuries, including to his patellar and torso, and he was limited to nine games.
B/R's NFL scouting department still has Nussmeier ranked as the No. 3 quarterback in the class and 51st overall prospect, so the Steelers landing him in round three would be a great value and give them a potential development project if Aaron Rodgers decides to play in 2026.
Allar was another player hampered by injuries last season. He only played six games before suffering an ankle injury that ended his college career early. The 22-year-old threw for 49 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions in the previous two seasons combined on 783 attempts prior to 2025.
B/R notes that Allar has the best arm of any quarterback in the 2026 class, but his biggest issue is accuracy and ball placement. If he can get into a system that helps him hone his mechanics so they don't get loose, there is upside for a Jets team that desperately needs anyone who might be a long-term solution at the position.
It wouldn't be a surprise if the Eagles take a quarterback given that it's a position they constantly add in the draft. They used a second-round pick in 2020 on Jalen Hurts, despite giving Carson Wentz a contract extension 10 months earlier.
That move worked out well because Wentz was traded to the Indianapolis Colts after the 2020 season. Hurts led the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances and a win, though now he finds himself in a state of uncertainty coming off a down year.
Eagles fans will eagerly tell you that Tanner McKee, a sixth-round pick in 2023, is the best backup in the league and deserving of being a starter.
Beck could absolutely fall into that category as a folk hero in Philadelphia. He was at one point being talked about as a potential first-round player.
The Eagles are a team that bets on high-ceiling traits, particularly at the quarterback spot as evidenced by past selections of Hurts and McKeen, so Beck would fit right in with their history if he is on the board later in the draft.
