Patriots 2026 NFL Schedule Released for Drake Maye, Mike Vrabel's Super Bowl Push
It is the Lombardi Trophy or bust for the New England Patriots.
That is what happens for a team that makes the Super Bowl in head coach Mike Vrabel's first season with the position and quarterback Drake Maye's second season in the league. And now the duo knows the schedule they will face with expectations dialed up after coming one win short of championship glory last season.

Analysis
Reaching the Super Bowl again will be quite the challenge if this schedule is any indication.
According to ESPN's Football Power Index, the Patriots had the easiest strength of schedule in the league last season. That is not going to be the case in 2026, as they have the sixth-hardest strength of schedule based on last season's winning percentage of opponents.
Much of that has to do with New England having to face the NFC North.
After all, all four teams in the division finished with a winning record last season and enter the 2026 campaign with realistic postseason aspirations. Getting matched up against the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings will do no favors for the AFC East teams going for wild-card spots.
But it isn't just that.
The Patriots also have to face the AFC West, which means playing the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers coming off playoff appearances and the Kansas City Chiefs looking to return to the top of the NFL.
Going against the AFC West and NFC North in addition to its own divisional games would be difficult enough for New England, but it is also slated to play the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers in its three additional games.
Seattle represents a Super Bowl rematch, Jacksonville is coming off a 13-4 season and AFC South crown, and Pittsburgh won the AFC North last season. The Patriots' schedule is relentless, so repeating as AFC champions will be quite the daunting task.
Pivotal Matchups
There are more important matchups on the Patriots' schedule than their Super Bowl rematch against the Seahawks, but it still stands out.
After all, Maye and Co. will be looking for some revenge after Seattle controlled the matchup on the way to the Lombardi Trophy. Winning this one wouldn't make up for the Super Bowl loss, but it would surely instill some confidence.
Elsewhere, the matchups against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will go a long way toward determining the AFC East standings.
New England's division title last season snapped Buffalo's streak of five straight AFC East titles, and Allen will surely be looking to reclaim the crown. With the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins seen as less serious threats, these are the two key divisional games for the Patriots.
If the Bills do end up winning the division, New England will need to focus on the AFC wild-card race.
And that is where games against the Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Jaguars and Steelers stand out. If they perform well in those matchups, a playoff appearance could very well be in the cards even if they do not win the division for a second straight year.
