Panthers' Dave Canales Explains Cutting His Own Hair in Trending Video from NFL Coaches Meetings
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales discussed cutting his own hair while attending the annual NFL coaches meetings on Tuesday.
"Man, I saved a lot of money over the years," Canales said during an appearance on Good Morning Football. "In college, made a little change in college. And then of course in COVID, no one was more popular than me. Nobody wanted to burst the bubble so all the guys on staff, sometimes the players, would be lining up. Quick edge up or something like that before we get on the plane."

"It's a family heritage thing, probably," he added. "The most precious thing I have in my house is a 100-plus-year-old hairbrush, horse hair brush, wooden handle. So my wife and I kid all the time, if our house is burning, grab the kids, grab the book with our socials, with our passports and all that and grab the hair brush and let's get out of here."
As part of the NFL's COVID-19 protocols used during the 2021 season, staff members were restricted from entering certain areas in team facilities. At the time, Canales served as the Seattle Seahawks' passing game coordinator.
He's now entering his third season as Carolina's head coach, meaning that he was included in the NFL's annual coaches photo.
He'll be looking to help the Panthers build upon an encouraging 2025 campaign, as they won the NFC South and made their first playoff appearance since the 2017 season.
