Watch Jermod McCoy's Impressive 40-Yard Dash at Tennessee Pro Day Amid 2026 NFL Draft Buzz
Any concerns about Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy's health were put to rest at Tuesday's pro day.
McCoy, who missed the entire 2025 season with a torn ACL, ran a blazing 4.4 40-yard dash to solidify his status as a potential first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

McCoy is ranked as the No. 2 cornerback in this year's class in the latest draft big board from the B/R NFL Scouting Department. He was predicted to be selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 12 pick in the most recent mock draft.
The last time McCoy was on the field in 2024, he finished the year with 44 total tackles, seven passes defended and four interceptions on his way to earning a first-team All-SEC selection and second-team Associated Press All-American honors.
Despite his injury, McCoy said at the NFL scouting combine last month that he didn't hesitate to forego his remaining eligibility and enter the draft.
"I just feel like when you're ready, you're ready," he said, per ESPN's Stephen Holder. "I felt ready to come out and talked with my family, my agent, my coaches. They're all on the same boat as me and agree with everything I was seeing."
McCoy's decision paid off, as he's likely to be one of the first defensive backs selected when the draft commences on April 23. His impressive speed is just one of the traits that NFL scouts will be enamored by as the evaluation process continues over the next few weeks.
