New Cowboys Rumors Feature Trade Calls Targeting Dolphins All-Pro LB Before NFL Draft

Andrew PetersMar 30, 2026

As the Dallas Cowboys continue trying to upgrade their defense, they're reportedly making calls about the NFL's leading tackler.

Per Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald, Miami Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said Monday that he's taken calls regarding Jordyn Brooks. Kelly noted that the Cowboys are one of the interested teams.

While Dallas has inquired, a deal is not yet on the horizon, according to Kelly, who added that "no offer made seems to be good enough for Miami at this moment."

"I want Jordyn to be part of this. He's made of the right kind of stuff," Sullivan said. "We want him to be a pillar on the defensive side of this as we build this thing out."

Brooks led the NFL with 183 total tackles and 99 solo tackles in 2025, adding 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Clearly a key part of the defense, Brooks was tabbed by Sullivan as one of the "three pillars" of the Dolphins, along with running back De'Von Achane and center Aaron Brewer. Sullivan said the team wants to extend and build around those players.

Brooks is entering the final year of his contract and has a $10.8 million cap hit.

While Miami seems keen on keeping Brooks around, the right offer might change the Dolphins' mind. The Cowboys are desperate for defensive pieces after posting some of the worst numbers in the league last year, so Dallas will likely put together quite the haul.
