Penei Sewell Position Change Teased by Lions' Dan Campbell After 3 All-Pro Selections at RT
Detroit Lions superstar right tackle Penei Sewell may be tasked with protecting quarterback Jared Goff's blindside in 2026.
According to ESPN's Eric Woodyard, Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Monday that he would like to move Sewell to left tackle prior to the upcoming season.
The information doesn't come as much of a shock since the Lions released longtime left tackle Taylor Decker earlier this month.

Chiefs Could Trade Up in Draft
Since going seventh overall to the Lions in the 2021 NFL draft, Sewell has consistently been among the top offensive linemen in the league, earning four Pro Bowl nods and three First Team All-Pro selections in five seasons.
It is much more difficult and costly to find a quality left tackle as opposed to a right tackle, so the most logical course of action for the Lions may indeed be to shift Sewell over to the left side and replace him either internally or with a free-agent acquisition or draft pick.
