A.J. Brown Trade Rumors Addressed by Howie Roseman, Nick Sirianni at NFL Meetings

Paul KasabianMar 30, 2026

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni were asked about wide receiver A.J. Brown at the league meetings amid ongoing trade rumors.

"I understand that there's interest in the A.J. Brown story. I, unfortunately, don't have a home under a rock," Roseman said, per ESPN's Tim McManus. "But my answer to any question on A.J. Brown is A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles. From my perspective, anything you ask me about A.J. Brown, I'm going to go right back to that answer. But I understand the interest. I put on TV and I see that there's interest but my answer is A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles."

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided some trade rumors earlier on March 16.

In essence, Philadelphia appeared likely to keep Brown on the roster until after June 1 to trade Brown because the dead money hit on his contract would go from $40 million to $20 million. In addition, Philadelphia would add 2027 draft assets vs. 2026 picks.

The New England Patriots have been (and remained) in talks with the Eagles about Brown as of Rapoport's report. Rapoport characterized the Pats as "still in."

He also said the Los Angeles Rams had talked with the Eagles about Brown but that they were now "out."

Brown has made his feelings about the Philadelphia passing game clear, and it's gotten to the point where a parting of ways may be best for both sides. A Feb. 19 article written by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Dan Graziano, Tim McManus, Ben Solak and Seth Walder broke down the situation and potential landing spots.

"But his frustrations over the passing game's shortcomings rose to new levels in 2025 and appeared to affect his play.

"Video surfaced of Brown calling his situation a "s--tshow" in November, and he made his dissatisfaction known on several occasions before acquiescing to CEO Jeffrey Lurie's request to tone down his public airings of grievances. The front office knows how vital Brown has been to the Eagles' success, but it must determine whether he'll commit to the operation and be aligned with quarterback Jalen Hurts moving forward."

The ESPN quintet wrote out four hypothetical trade scenarios from the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots. The Bills are likely off the table after they dealt a second-round draft pick to the Chicago Bears for D.J. Moore and a fifth-rounder.

The Pats might be the best potential landing spot. They need a bona fide No. 1 wide receiver after parting ways with Stefon Diggs. New England did add Romeo Doubs via free agency from the Green Bay Packers, and he figures to start in town.

Brown has amassed 1,000 or more receiving yards in six of his seven seasons. His best stretch was in 2022 and 2023, his first two years with the Eagles. Over that period, Brown had 194 total catches for 2,952 yards and 18 touchdowns. Last year, he had 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven scores in 15 games.

Ultimately, given Roseman's answer on Sunday and the latest reports, Brown could have very well played his last down in Philadelphia, begging the questions of where he lands, for what and when. Time will tell, but it doesn't appear answers will be provided soon.
