49ers' John Lynch Talks $9M Upgrades After Poor NFLPA Report Card Grades on Training Staff, Facility
After getting poor NFLPA report card grades on their facilities, training staff and more, the San Francisco 49ers decided to take action.
General manager John Lynch said that the team "dug deeper" into the grades and what they could do to improve things, via the San Francisco Standard's David Lombardi.
The club found out that players wanted more one-on-one attention, which led to them hiring three more physical therapists and investing $9 million into hydro areas like cold plunges and pools, which had previously graded low.

Richard Sherman, who spent three years with the Niners, is happy to see Lynch and the front office take action.
San Francisco certainly did not have the worst report card among NFL teams, as it ranked 14th in the NFL. The Niners also had mostly As and Bs across the board, with the only Cs being a C-minus in their training room, a C-minus in their training staff and a C-plus in team travel.
With improvements to the areas that did grade poorly, the 49ers could have one of the best report cards after the 2026 campaign.
