Clayton Kershaw Joining Dodgers Front Office After MLB Retirement, Icon Won 2 World Series With LA

Former Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw is joining his team's front office as a special assistant.

Kershaw, who retired after the 2025 season, has also joined NBC Sports as an analyst for its Major League Baseball coverage. He made his debut on Thursday, when the host Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2 to begin the 2026 regular season.

Kershaw, of course, can make a great case as the best pitcher of the 21st century. Over 18 seasons, the lifetime Dodger went 223-96 with a 2.53 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 3,052 strikeouts (9.6 K/9 rate). He led MLB in ERA four times, victories twice and strikeouts once (a career-high 301 in 2015).

Kershaw is also an 11-time All-Star, three-time Cy Young winner and two-time World Series winner. He also earned the 2014 NL MVP award.

The southpaw is a Dodger legend and a surefire first ballot Baseball Hall of Famer. Now he's carving out his post-playing career with front office and broadcasting roles. It's no surprise the Dodgers want his expertise given his tremendous success in the league as they search for the first World Series three-peat in league history since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees.
