Myles Garrett Trade Jokingly Teased By NFL Draft Expert Daniel Jeremiah After Browns Rework Contract
The NFL offseason might have hit something of a lull with the excitement of free agency and a Maxx Crosby trade that was nullified in the rearview mirror and the draft yet to come.
So NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah has an idea to "spice up the offseason" with a Myles Garrett trade:

It needs to be stressed this is not Jeremiah reporting a Garrett trade will happen or is even something the Cleveland Browns are considering. He clearly thinks it would be entertaining, and it's hard to argue with that notion seeing how the pass-rusher is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and would be quite the boost for any team that acquired him.
Jeremiah's comments come after ESPN's Field Yates reported on Wednesday that Cleveland and Garrett "agreed to modified language on his contract" that previously had his option bonuses for the 2026, 2027 and 2028 campaigns scheduled to be exercised on the 15th day of the league year.
With the changes, those dates were pushed back to seven days before the regular season. What's more, $8 million of the pass-rusher's base salary for 2029 and 2030 were moved into roster bonuses.
Such changes also give the Browns more flexibility to create additional cap space.
It could also make a trade more straightforward should Cleveland decide to explore that option:
While there don't seem to be any indications the Browns are looking to trade arguably the best defensive player in the league, it would add some excitement to the offseason.
Just ask Jeremiah.
