The four-time MVP is scheduled to make his regular-season pitching debut on March 31.
Ohtani made his Spring Training debut on March 18, allowing one hit without giving up an earned run in 4.1 innings pitched. The 31-year-old also recorded four strikeouts and two walks.
Ohtani started in just 14 regular-season games in 2025, as he missed his entire 2024 campaign while recovering from surgery to repair an elbow injury that he suffered in 2023.
He was still effective on the mound during his 2025 season despite the limited playing time, posting a 1-1 record to go along with a 2.87 ERA and 1.043 WHIP. Ohtani also ended the year with 62 strikeouts compared to nine walks in 47 innings of work.
The Dodgers could take a patient approach with his workload at the beginning of the upcoming season, as they're attempting to go on another deep playoff run and capture a third consecutive World Series title.
