New Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors Reveal Cowboys' Final Offers to Raiders Before Failed Ravens Deal

Adam WellsMar 24, 2026

Details of the Dallas Cowboys' final trade offer for Maxx Crosby prior to the agreement between the Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens were already known, but now there are more specific details about Jerry Jones' negotiations with Raiders officials.

Per ESPN's Ryan McFadden, the Cowboys proposed three different deals to the Raiders that began with pick No. 20 in the 2026 draft and Osa Odighizuwa:

"Initial offers centered on Dallas' second first-round pick at No. 20, and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa. The Cowboys then offered their top first-rounder at No. 12 and a third-round pick. Ultimately, the Cowboys moved to No. 12 and their second-round pick, but the last two offers, sources said, did not include Odighizuwa, who was traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round selection."

The Ravens and Raiders agreed to a deal on March 6 that would send Baltimore's first-round picks in 2026 and '27 to Las Vegas in exchange for Crosby.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on March 8 that Dallas maintained a "hard line" stance throughout talks with the Raiders and didn't want to include both of its first-round picks in 2026 (No. 12 and 20) in a deal, but was willing to trade a first- and second-rounder plus a veteran player.

After Crosby went through a physical with the Ravens, the Raiders released a statement on March 10 saying Baltimore backed out of the agreed-upon deal.

Even though that opened the door for the Cowboys if they wanted to get back in the mix, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that wouldn't be the case. They had already agreed to a trade with the Green Bay Packers to acquire Rashan Gary.

Plus, it was revealed that Dr. Daniel Cooper was one of the medical personnel involved in reviewing Crosby's medicals from his physical with the Ravens and expressed some concerns. Cooper is the head physician for the Cowboys.

In addition to their trade for Gary, the Cowboys brought back Sam Williams and signed Tyrus Wheat in free agency to boost their defensive line depth.

B/R's NFL scouting department's most recent mock draft projected the Cowboys to select Texas Tech EDGE David Bailey and Cincinnati linebacker Jake Golday with their two first-round picks.

Even though the upside of a player like Crosby could have been transformational for the Cowboys in the short term, keeping those two picks could turn out to be better for the long-term health of the franchise if they hit on either or both.
