Adam Schefter Says Odell Beckham Jr. Wants to Continue NFL Career, Floats Possible Landing Spot
Veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. isn't ready to retire just yet.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday on The Pat McAfee Show that Beckham "definitely wants to play and feels healthy." The NFL insider threw out the New York Giants as a suitor that "would make some sense":
The three-time Pro Bowler participated in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic over the weekend. He made a one-handed grab in the back of the end zone that resembled peak OBJ:
Heading into the event, he told Kay Adams he hoped the three-team tournament would be a "starting point" before he makes a full return to the sport:
Teams probably won't be swayed much by Beckham's exploits in flag football when he struggled so badly the last time he was in the NFL. In nine appearances with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, he caught nine passes for 55 yards.
And being healthy only counts for so much with a player who turned 33 last November and whose last 1,000-yard receiving season was back in 2019.
Beckham bringing his pro career full circle by signing with the Giants would make for a great story, and he could serve as a mentor of sorts to Malik Nabers. When roster spots are scarce, New York might nonetheless find it difficult to justify the move.
