DeAndre Hopkins Teases Potential Bengals Contract in Cryptic Tweet After TD Pass from Joe Burrow
NFL free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins hinted in a post on X Friday that he could be signing with the Cincinnati Bengals.
One day later, Hopkins caught a long touchdown pass from Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow during the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. This post soon followed.
Hopkins, who turns 34 years old on June 6, is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. He caught 22 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games for the Baltimore Ravens in 2025, his 13th NFL season.
The Bengals arguably have the best wideout duo in the league in Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Andrei Iosivas, Mitchell Tinsley and Charlie Jones currently round out the top five on the wideout depth chart.
Hopkins can find his way in Cincinnati and certainly earn playing time behind Chase and Higgins. He didn't see the field too much last year, playing just 32.9 percent of the offensive snaps, per Pro Football Reference. Hopkins also had just 39 targets (a little over two per game) during the regular season. Presumably, Hopkins would like to go somewhere he can earn more playing time.
The Bengals are looking to bounce back from a tough 6-11 season that included a 2-10 stretch. Burrow was injured in Week 2 and suffered a Grade 3 turf toe injury that kept him out for nine weeks, and the Bengals also allowed the third-most points in the league.
A healthy Burrow can certainly turn things around in Cincinnati, and it's apparently a possibility that Hopkins could be one of his targets in 2026.
