Serena Williams' Practice Partner Gives Update on Tennis Icon's Training Amid Comeback Rumors

Timothy RappMar 20, 2026

WTA player Alycia Parks has a very high-profile practice partner—the legendary Serena Williams. And she added more fuel to the fire that Williams might indeed be gearing up for a tennis comeback.

"I did text her when I was in the Middle East and I was like, 'Hey, can you practice when I come back to the States?' and she was like, 'Yeah, let's go,'" Parks told People's Skyler Caruso regarding Williams. "So we got in a few sessions and yeah, she's been helping me. When I'm home, I would say probably three times a week."

Granted, Parks said she doesn't have any inside information on a potential comeback.

"I don't know if she's coming back, I don't know when she's coming back," she said. "We just go to practice, we don't really talk too much about her coming back. It's just like fun stuff."

But Williams still has her proverbial fastball.

"She's hitting good," Parks said on the Tennis Channel. "Yeah, she's definitely fit. She looks great and she's hitting the ball amazing."

Williams, 44, last played at the 2022 U.S. Open, but plenty of rumors have emerged suggesting that a potential comeback is in the works.
