Latest Chiefs Rumors on Potential Cameron Jordan Contract in NFL Free Agency

Mike ChiariMar 20, 2026

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly in the mix to sign veteran pass-rusher Cameron Jordan in free agency.

According to ESPN's Nate Taylor, the Chiefs "are a possible destination" for the 36-year-old Jordan, who has spent his entire 15-year NFL career with the New Orleans Saints thus far.

Chiefs superstar defensive tackle Chris Jones posted Jordan's name last week on X, which generated rumors and speculation regarding Kansas City's potential interest in the eight-time Pro Bowler and one-time First Team All-Pro:

Per Taylor, Jones revealed that he was indeed "pitching the idea" of the Chiefs signing Jordan through his X post.

With 132 career sacks, Jordan is the Saints' all-time leader in the category, and he is second among active players and 17th on the official all-time list.

If Jordan records seven or more sacks in 2026, he will move into the top 10 of the official career sacks list.

Jordan has registered 10 or more sacks in a season seven times in his career, including last season when he finished with 10.5.

It was Jordan's first double-digit sack season since 2021, and it represented a huge bounce back from 2023 and 2024 when he had just two and four sacks, respectively.

The Chiefs went a disappointing 6-11 last season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014 after making three consecutive Super Bowl appearances from 2022 to 2024.

There were many reasons for their struggles, and one of them was the lack of a consistent pass-rush, as the Chiefs tied for 22nd in the NFL with 35 sacks.

No player on the team had more sacks than Jones' seven, and George Karlaftis was the team's leader in sacks among edge-rushers with six.

Jordan would give the Chiefs some much-needed pass-rushing depth and juice, as they look to rebound and return to both the playoffs and championship contention after the disappointment of last season.
