Julian Edelman Posts Cryptic A.J. Brown GIF Amid Patriots, Eagles Trade Rumors

Doric SamMar 19, 2026

The New England Patriots are known to be targeting a trade for Philadelphia Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown this offseason, and a franchise legend sent fans into a frenzy with a mysterious post on social media.

Former Patriots receiver Julian Edelman tweeted a GIF of Brown winking after he told him, "We are all Patriots" on the Dudes on Dudes podcast earlier this year.

Edelman's tweet quickly went viral, as fans viewed it as a sign of optimism that the Patriots are closer to completing a deal for Brown.

New England fans were in need of some positivity after MassLive's Karen Guregian recently reported that the team has hit a roadblock in negotiations with Philadelphia.

"The Patriots and Eagles are engaged in a staring contest," Guregian stated. "While the expectation is they'll eventually come to terms on a deal, whether it's in the coming weeks, or after June 1, which is preferred by the Eagles for monetary reasons, it's also possible another team will swoop in."

Edelman's tweet could be just him having fun online, but the Patriots are certainly hoping to land a deal for Brown as they chase another spot in the Super Bowl next season.
