Joe Burrow 'Always' Wanted Davante Adams as Teammate, QB Says in Trending Video amid Trade Rumors

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
The circumstances haven't aligned to let Burrow and Adams team up in the NFL.
When Burrow entered the league in 2020, Adams was a vital member of the Green Bay Packers offense and pretty much untouchable. The following offseason, Cincinnati used the No. 5 overall pick on Ja'Marr Chase, and that solidified the team's receiving tandem moving forward.
Once Adams was available in a trade, the Bengals were committed to Chase and Tee Higgins as Burrow's top targets. And now that the pair combine to make $69 million annually, acquiring Adams is out of the question.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported the Los Angeles Rams weighed a move for the Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown, which would've required an accompanying trade involving Adams. The three-time All-Pro had a $6 million roster bonus kick in, which lowers the odds of him leaving L.A.
The future of Burrow is somewhat murky, though, with his team missing the playoffs for three straight years. Should Cincinnati's futility continue into 2026, Burrow may begin to consider all of his options.
Matthew Stafford isn't getting any younger. Imagine Burrow heading out West to play with Adams and Puka Nacua on the Rams. Adams might as well start making the sales pitch Saturday in the off chance this becomes a possibility.
