Tom Brady Reveals Text He Sent Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels Ahead of Fanatics Flag Football Classic
Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady has never been one to shy away from trash talk, and that is apparently still the case even during the aftermath of his NFL career.
During an appearance Tuesday night on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Brady divulged the jab he took at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels ahead of the Fanatics Flag Football Classic (beginning at the 30-second mark of video):
"I texted Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels—they're the opposing quarterbacks—and I said, 'I love beating Heisman Trophy winners,'" Brady said. "I was the 199th pick, and I always took dead aim at the guys who were picked ahead of me. They said, 'Talk that you know what, bring it on.'"
Brady went on to establish himself as perhaps the greatest quarterback and player in NFL history, but he wasn't highly touted coming out of the University of Michigan, which resulted in him going in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft to the New England Patriots.
Burrow and Daniels entered the league to much more fanfare, as they were the first and second overall picks in their respective drafts after they each won the Heisman Trophy at LSU.
On Saturday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, three teams will meet in a round-robin tournament to determine the first-ever Fanatics Flag Football Classic champion.
Brady and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will captain Founders FFC, while Wildcats FFC will be captained by Burrow and Daniels. The third team will be comprised of members of the United States flag football national team.
Several other current and former NFL players are set to participate as well, including Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Cleveland Browns pass-rusher Myles Garrett and legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski.
On top of that, boxer Terence "Bud" Crawford, WWE Superstar Logan Paul and streamer IShowSpeed are also set to play in the game.
The Fanatics Flag Football Classic will air live on Fox starting at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday.
