Dolphins' Top WR Targets in 2026 NFL Draft, Free Agency After Jaylen Waddle Trade to Broncos

Doric SamMar 17, 2026

The Miami Dolphins continued to revamp their wide receiver room this offseason, trading star wideout Jaylen Waddle and a 2026 fourth-round pick to the Denver Broncos on Monday in exchange for 2026 first-, third- and fourth-round picks.

Now equipped with the No. 11 and No. 30 picks in the first round of this year's draft, the Dolphins could have the chance to add a talented young prospect to take over as their No. 1 receiver. Miami could also look to free agency if it chooses to go the veteran route.

Some of the Dolphins' top targets after letting Waddle go include:

  • Draft Targets: Makai Lemon, Jordyn Tyson, Denzel Boston
  • Free-Agent Targets: Jauan Jennings, Stefon Diggs, Deebo Samuel

The Dolphins have multiple holes to fill this offseason, but they have the draft capital to turn things around in a big way. After Monday's trade, Miami has a whopping 11 picks in next month's draft.

In its latest mock draft, B/R's NFL Scouting Department predicted that the Dolphins would go the defensive route and select LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane.

However, this year's draft class is full of receivers who can be difference-makers at the next level, and the Dolphins are in need of talent after trading Waddle on Tuesday and releasing star receiver Tyreek Hill earlier this offseason.

USC's Makai Lemon and Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson are dynamic route-runners who can line up all over the field and immediately step in as No. 1 options in the passing attack. Tyson's injury history could cause him to fall down the draft board, so Miami could even choose to trade back to add more draft capital and still land a top-flight receiver.

Washington's Denzel Boston could be a target with the No. 30 pick. At 6'4", he's a big target who could dominate on third downs and in the red zone. The Dolphins could choose to address their defense with the No. 11 pick and add Boston later in the first round to give them cornerstones to build around on both sides of the ball.

Even if the Dolphins manage to land one of the top receivers in this year's draft, they should still try to add a veteran presence to the passing game.

Miami will be relying on former Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Malik Willis to steer the ship under first-year head coach Jeff Hafley, so some experienced players could boost the team's chances of making quick improvements.

Jauan Jennings has spent his entire career with the San Francisco 49ers and has proven to be a reliable No. 2 option on the outside. He played 15 games in 2025 and caught a career-high nine touchdown passes.

Stefon Diggs is coming off a Super Bowl run with the New England Patriots, so he could prefer to land with a contending team. However, the call of South Beach could be too hard to ignore. Diggs racked up 1,013 yards this past season after coming back from a torn ACL, and he could be even better in 2026. He was praised for his impact on second-year quarterback Drake Maye, so he would surely make life easier for Willis.

Deebo Samuel spent the 2025 campaign with the Washington Commanders and recorded five receiving touchdowns and a rushing score. He's still a dynamic player who can be used in a variety of ways, so he could be a strong addition as the Dolphins install a new offense under Hafley and new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
