The Nationals announced on Monday that they're introducing a new Team Dog for the upcoming campaign, and they asked fans to vote on its name:

"The Washington Nationals are expanding their roster this season to add a Team Dog through a partnership with Eukanuba and Canine Companions!" a release stated. "While players continue training for games, the Team Dog will be training to become a service dog, fueled by extraordinary nutrition."
The name choices for fans to vote on include Cherry, Monty, Natty and Tater.
The Nationals have gone 11-7-3 in spring training so far and will open the 2026 season with a road series against the Chicago Cubs beginning on March 26.
