World Baseball Classic 2026 Bracket Update After USA Beats Dominican Republic in Semifinals

Team USA will play for the 2026 World Baseball Classic title on Tuesday night.

The Americans slowed down the red-hot bats of the Dominican Republic in a 2-1 semifinal victory on Sunday night.

Paul Skenes and the United States pitching staff held the Dominican lineup to a single run, a Junior Caminero solo home run in the second inning.

Prior to Sunday, the Dominican Republic posted 51 runs across five games.

The Americans used the long ball to their advantage in the fourth inning to produce the game-tying and game-winning runs.

Gunnar Henderson tied the game with a solo shot and then Roman Anthony hit the game-winning home run to center field in Miami.

The United States will play the winner of Monday's semifinal between Italy and Venezuela on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET in Miami.

Venezuela and Italy are both surprise semifinalists. Venezuela eliminated Japan on Saturday night, while Italy took down Puerto Rico.

The United States will be favored to win against either side. If they meet Italy in the final, it'll be a rematch of the pool play game that Italy won to top Pool B.
