Cal Raleigh Trolled By Savannah Bananas in Viral Video After Randy Arozarena Handshake Snub at WBC
The Savannah Bananas trolled Cal Raleigh declining a handshake from Seattle Mariners teammate Randy Arozarena at the 2026 World Baseball Classic on Saturday.
During a Banana Ball matchup with the Party Animals at the Caesars Superdome, a Party Animals batter attempted to shake hands with the Bananas' catcher. Despite initially refusing the gesture, the two players ended up giving each other a hug before dancing together.
It was a much different outcome compared to the WBC handshake snub, which occurred during Raleigh and Team USA's 5-3 win over Arozarena and Mexico on Monday night.
Arozarena offered to shake hands with Raleigh prior to his first at-bat of the game, but the catcher refused.
After the game, Arozarena didn't seem to appreciate the snub.
"That 'good to see you' that he said to me," Arozarena said, via Sam Blum of The Athletic. "He can shove it straight up his ass. I'm out."
Raleigh later revealed that he spoke to his Mariners teammate on Tuesday about the incident.
"I love Randy. I do," Raleigh said, per ESPN's Jeff Passan. "I hate that this is a thing. There's no beef. When we get back to Seattle, he's my brother. We're family. I already reached out to him, so it's just a competitive environment and I know he would want the same for me when we're on the team and playoff baseball. I just have a responsibility for my teammates here right now and my country, and emotions are running high."
Arozarena and Raleigh both served as key pieces of Seattle's lineup in 2025, helping the team finish with a 90-72 record before advancing to the American League Championship Series.
