New Anthony Richardson Trade Rumors Reveal 'Team to Watch' After Colts' Daniel Jones Deal

Andrew PetersMar 14, 2026

As the Indianapolis Colts look to find a trade for quarterback Anthony Richardson, one team reportedly has emerged as a possible suitor.

According to ESPN's Stephen Holder, the Green Bay Packers are "one particular team to monitor." Holder added that "there are interested teams, but the dust is still settling from free agency."

Holder reported last month that the Colts had permitted Richardson to seek a trade after the former fourth overall pick's third season with the team. The move came after Richardson appeared in just two games in 2025.

Richardson's tenure with Indianapolis has been rough. He played just four games as a rookie due to various injuries before throwing for 1,814 yards, eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions in Year 2.

Indianapolis signed Daniel Jones last offseason to compete with Richardson, and he ended up starting the entire year on his way to a breakout season. During the 2025 season, Richardson suffered a fractured orbital bone while warming up with an elastic band, which led to him finishing the season on injured reserve. He has since regained full vision in his right eye.

While Richardson hasn't had the start to his career that he would have hoped, joining a new team could give him the fresh start he needs as he looks to turn things around.

His agent certainly has confidence in what comes next for the 23-year-old.

"He needs a fresh start. [His next team] is gonna be surprised to find out how smart he is," Chris Rogers told Fox Sports' Henry McKenna. "When he was drafted, he was 20 years old. So now he's mature. He's seen a lot. … I just think his next stop — it's going to be box office."

Along with the Packers, Richardson has been linked to the Minnesota Vikings, though they've since added free agent quarterback Kyler Murray. As the offseason continues, more teams will likely emerge as suitors and Richardson could very well be suiting up for a different team in the fall.
