
World Baseball Classic 2026 Bracket Semifinals Qualified Teams After Friday's Quarterfinals Results
The United States and Dominican Republic will meet in the 2026 World Baseball Classic semifinals.
The Dominican Republic continued to dominate at the plate in its 10-0 quarterfinal win over South Korea in seven innings.
Earning a win was a bit more difficult for the Americans against Canada, as they earned a 5-3 victory in nine innings.
The other two semifinalists will be determined on Saturday, when Puerto Rico takes on Italy and Japan faces Venezuela.

The Dominican Republic run-ruled South Korea to earn the first spot in the WBC semifinals.
The Dominicans piled on the runs in the first three frames, as they scored three in the second and four in the third.
Junior Caminero, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado all drove in runs during the pair of rallies.
Austin Wells delivered the dagger in the bottom of the seventh, as he blasted a three-run shot into the right field bleachers.
Cristopher Sanchez struck out eight over five innings for the victorious side.
Six of the nine starters recorded a hit. Machado and Julio Rodriguez both had two hits for the Dominican Republic.

The United States broke out to a five-run lead through six innings and then held on for the win in the final few frames.
Kyle Schwarber opened the scoring on a RBI groundout in the first. Alex Bregman followed with a two-run single in the third.
Brice Turang and Pete Crow-Armstrong each had RBI singles in the sixth to open up a five-run advantage.
Canada staged a comeback attempt in the sixth, which was headlined by a two-run home run off Bo Naylor's bat.
Canada had the tying run on base in the seventh inning, but David Bednar worked out of a jam for Team USA.
Garrett Whitlock and Mason Miller each threw a scoreless inning for Team USA to complete the victory and set up a semifinal matchup with the Dominican Republic.
